Allie is a New Jersey–based photographer, with much of her life spent between Southern California and destinations around the world. A 2014 graduate of The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, photography has been part of her story since she was fourteen. First sparked by a quiet fascination with light, nature, and the ever-evolving rhythm of the ocean.
Her early career unfolded within the world of action sports, interning with Grind Media under Jean Paul Van Swae and working alongside photographers such as Art Brewer to document surf culture across the globe. These years shaped her eye for movement, energy, and instinct. An ability to anticipate moments as they naturally unfold.
In 2008, Allie survived a traumatic brain injury, an experience that altered not only her life, but her relationship with photography. What once felt intuitive became distant. Portraiture, previously her passion, felt out of reach as she navigated years of depression and disconnection. During this time, she gravitated toward fast-paced subjects and action sports. Photographing motion as a reflection of the chaos within, and as a means of escape.
Healing arrived slowly, through stillness. Yoga nidra and restorative yoga introduced a new way of being. One rooted in presence, self-acceptance, and softness. On her third trip to Bali, Allie completed her yoga teacher training in Bondalem, on the island’s quiet northern coast. In a place that encouraged authenticity and courage, she found her way back to herself — and back to portraiture.
Today, Allie’s work is driven by a desire to see people as they truly are. Her imagery is informed by resilience, emotional depth, and a reverence for honest connection. Whether photographing ocean light, high-energy movement, or intimate portraits, her goal remains the same: to create images that feel grounded, emotive, and quietly powerful. Allie is incredible in every way! I cannot say enough about how wonderful my daughter and my experience was with her during our mother-daughter beach shoot. She fully understood how important this moment in time is for my daughter and I (I’m a single mom raising my daughter solo) and captured the depth of my daughter and my connection so beautifully through her photos. Allie was absolutely incredible! She photographed a beach session for my boyfriend and I. As a photographer myself, I can be picky about photos so I was so happy with how these turned out. She gave us ideas on what to wear for the shoot and so much guidance during! Her cues and direction made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera that even my boyfriend had lots of fun taking photos. We are so in love with our photos, she made us look and feel beautiful. I would HIGHLY recommend Allie for any portrait session needs.
